Recently, Banh Mi Xin Chao (BMXC) experienced a truly memorable moment when we were honored to be featured on the reputable Chiba TV. This short segment serves as a tremendous encouragement for our entire team on our continuous journey to bring the authentic taste of our homeland to diners in Japan.
A special experience on Kanto regional television
On January 25, 2026, the official YouTube channel poppletelevision uploaded episode 369 of the popular television program "Ohiru no Kaiketsu TV". This familiar infotainment show typically airs every Sunday afternoon on Chiba TV, a regional network covering the entirety of Chiba Prefecture and Eastern Tokyo.
Being noticed and selected for filming by a program with over 7 years of broadcasting history is truly a stroke of luck and a massive motivation for BMXC.
Notably, our store's story took up the entire middle segment of this 28-minute episode, introduced with a charmingly simple title: "The Vietnamese Sandwich Shop in Takadanobaba, Tokyo".
Returning to where it all began in Takadanobaba with our Co-founder
Following the show's host, viewers were taken to the bustling streets of Takadanobaba in Shinjuku Ward. This location holds a special place in our hearts, as it is where our very first store opened—the foundational brick of the Banh Mi Xin Chao chain today.

Welcoming the Japanese TV crew was Mr. Bui Thanh Duy, the brand's co-founder. During their friendly conversation, the Japanese host showed genuine interest when hearing Mr. Duy share about our efforts to expand the chain, reaching the milestone of 25 stores nationwide. From a small shop born in October 2016, Banh Mi Xin Chao is taking steady steps to become a familiar culinary destination for both Vietnamese expats and local Japanese people.
Preserving the original flavors
Throughout the segment, the Banh Mi Xin Chao team was delighted to convey our dedication to preserving the true soul of Vietnamese cuisine.
Upon tasting our best-selling grilled meat banh mi alongside a robust cup of traditional Vietnamese iced drip coffee, the guest left incredibly positive remarks. Despite operating in a market with high culinary standards like Japan, Banh Mi Xin Chao always strives to maintain our original recipe to the fullest: a baguette with a thin, crispy crust and a soft, airy inside, paired with savory grilled meat, rich buttery pate, and refreshing pickled vegetables.

Banh Mi Xin Chao remains steadfast in our desire to provide the most authentic culinary experience, staying true to the spirit of our slogan: "Taste Banh Mi, Taste Viet Nam".
Spreading joy through a warm lens
The program didn't just offer close-up shots of mouth-watering food; it also created an incredibly warm atmosphere towards the end, guided by the host—the renowned magician Maya Issei.

Known for constantly bringing joy to his audience, MC Maya Issei spontaneously gifted our store an exciting interactive magic performance. He surprised everyone by magically producing potatoes and lemons right before our eyes. The ringing laughter and enthusiastic cheers from the Japanese TV crew made our entire staff feel incredibly warm and appreciated.
Having a reputable Kanto television station take the time to visit and learn about us is an invaluable spiritual gift. Through this event, Mr. Bui Thanh Duy and the Banh Mi Xin Chao team hope to continue contributing our small part in connecting the kindness and culinary essence of our homeland with the local community.
