The Xin Chào Go Fest journey continues with stop #61, taking Bánh Mì Xin Chào to Niigata Vietnam Festival 2026 (にいがたベトナムフェスティバル2026). On October 11 and 12, performances, food and hands-on activities at Hive Nagaoka in Nagaoka City will bring Vietnamese culture closer to the people of Niigata.
Two days of Vietnamese culture in Nagaoka
The festival is organized by Niigata Prefecture, with cooperation and support from the Embassy of Vietnam in Japan, the Niigata Vietnam Association and the Niigata International Association.
The event gives local residents an opportunity to discover Vietnamese culture and meet Vietnamese people living and working in Niigata, while promoting international understanding and multicultural coexistence.
The stage brings together Vietnamese and Japanese cultural traditions, from Vietnamese lion dances, dance and traditional instruments to taiko drums and koto. Highlights over the two days include:
- Opening ceremony: Sunday, October 11, at 10:00.
- Vietnamese lion dance: October 11 at 10:30 and 15:45; October 12 at 10:30 and 15:00.
- Vietnamese traditional instruments: October 11 at 11:30; October 12 at 13:45.
- Taiko drums: performances by 悠久太鼓長岡青悠会, October 11 at 11:00 and October 12 at 12:00.
- Koto: performances by 越路琴製造組合, October 11 at 13:00 and October 12 at 10:45.
- Coffee stage: October 11 at 13:45 and October 12 at 14:00.
- Vietnamese bamboo dance: October 11 at 14:15 and October 12 at 14:30.
- Vietnamese songs and dance: performances on both days, with the stage finale on October 12 at 15:45.
Beyond the stage, you can take photos among Vietnamese lanterns, make accessories and miniature lanterns, paint a nón lá conical hat or color balancing dragonflies. The booths offer Vietnamese food, drinks and goods, along with a tasting comparison of Japanese and Vietnamese rice crackers and a prize draw with limited quantities of gifts.

Bánh Mì Xin Chào at the festival
Bánh Mì Xin Chào joins the food area with bánh mì, alongside booths serving phở, bún bò Huế, cơm âm phủ, Vietnamese coffee and milk tea.
Stop by the Bánh Mì Xin Chào booth for bánh mì, then take time to explore the stage and cultural activities. Each Go Fest stop is an opportunity to bring Vietnamese flavors closer to our friends in Japan and give the Vietnamese community a place to meet and connect.

Getting there
- From the Ote Exit of Nagaoka Station, take a bus to Hive Nagaoka. The journey takes approximately 20 minutes.
- A free shuttle bus runs between Aore Nagaoka and Hive Nagaoka every 40 minutes.
